Frequently Asked Questions - Battery Backup

 How long does the battery backup last?
 

In the event of a power outage, your aquarium inhabitants both sessile and mobile will thank you for installing a battery backup for your system. Estimated number of backup hours are as followed:

MP10ES / MP10wES Up to 72 hours
MP40wES Up to 36 hours
MP60wES Up to 20 hours
Radion Up to 20 hours

NOTE: Due to the nature of the batteries used, the performance degrades after every discharge. EcoTech recommends that you discharge your batters only for testing purposes every 6 months. The batteries may need replacement if you are experiencing excessively short run times.

 
2 How many units of VorTech can one unit of battery backup support?
 

One unit of battery backup can only support one unit of VorTech pump. However, if you want a longer backup hours, you can connect 2 units of battery backup to one unit of VorTech pump.
 
3 How long does my battery backup warranty last?
 

The battery backup is warranted for 1 yr. Please refer to your instruction manual for further details.
